Mother
It was a nice summer day. Aliza was visiting her cousins Hamza and Sameeh. Instead of playing inside the house they asked their parents if they could go outside to the park. Their parents liked the idea. So their moms made picnic hampers and their dads took some balls and a picnic mat. They went to Lady Dixon park which they loved to go as there is always an ice cream van and sometimes BBQ. The park was full of young children and every one was having a good time. Sameeh and Aliza ran towards the swings which they enjoyed very much. They also played on the slides. They heard some children making fuss at one of the swings. One boy was fighting with other children and was not giving turns to any one else. His mum tried to pull him away but he started to kick her and was very rude to her. Everyone was shocked at the boy’s behaviour towards his mother. Sameeh and Aliza did not like this.
Sameeh’s dad told them that as Muslims they should be very respectful to their mums. He told them a hadith (Prophet’s saying) that once a man visited the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and asked, ‘who among people has most right to good treatment from me? He (The Prophet (pbuh)) said, ‘your mother’ man asked then who Prophet replied, ‘your mother’. The man asked for the third time, then who Prophet replied, ‘your mother’ he asked then who? Prophet replied then your father. The children felt happy on hearing this and spent the rest of their day having a good time.
